Born and raised in and around Boston, Boone Kilpatrick is a senior at the S.I. Newhouse School of public communications majoring in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a minor in History.

Boone is an award winning multi-media journalist, winning the Hearst Award for the Audio Category, the BEA Award for Audio Features, a Region 11 Small Market Audio Feature Regional Murrow, an Excellence in Audio Feature Reporting National Student Murrow, an SPJ award, and two Syracuse Press Club awards for his reporting.

Originally Boone came to Newhouse to be the worlds greatest sportscaster, having announced games across New England as a high schooler. Boone was the youngest paid play-by-play man in the region, calling major games like the NFHS national basketball game of the week, the 2023 D2 Boys and D1 Girls Massachusetts Basketball Championship, ISL Skiing, Volleyball, Hockey and the Rhode Island Swim and Track championships among others.

At Newhouse, pursued sports at ACC Network, CitrusTV, WAER, and Z89. Boone switched his focus to news as a Junior, starting as a volunteer journalist at WAER’s news department. Boone immediately began publishing award winning work, covering the Jim Boeheim legacy mural, the SNAP shutdown, and city theater productions.

At CitrusTV, Boone began day reporting for the nightly news program “Live at 6” and became an analyst for the flagship political news show “Talking Points” and economics show “Market Shares producing on-air explainers for both shows. Boone also became a co-host and later show lead for the Z89 radio political talk show “Orange State.” Boone is also a Spectrum News Fellow in Syracuse.

Boone is a lifelong fan of the Sox, Pats, C’s and B’s, and when not chasing a story, can usually be found trying to catch the game.
